Push Present

Maybe some of you have heard of that, some may not have. It's not something I really cared anything about. I am a simple person. I don't need expensive things to make me happy. But what makes me really happy is that Chris bought something, and his thought behind it was so incredably thoughtful.

First of all, it's a funny story. (I don't have a real picture, becuase my camera is packed in the car ready to go any minute, and it's too cold to walk out and get it...it's like 45F.)

I would have never even known that Chris bought me anything, but a couple of days ago, I got the mail, like I do everyday. Go through to junk, and bills. Well, there was a Thank You card from Jared's Jewlers. I thought, huh....I opened it, thinking this is pretty sneaky junk mail. Well, it said Chris, Thank you for your business, good luck with the birth of your baby.

I thought....okay that's too good. So I knew he had bought me something. I kept the note a secret for a couple days, becuaes I truly wanted to be surprised. I was crying so hard when I read the Thank You, becuase I knew that Chris had taken the time to go there, pick something out, think of me, and even want to surprise me. How thoughtful is that....I never even asked or hinted at anything. He even knows that I don't wear jewlery that often and when I do, it's CHEEP.

Well today, I leared that he also resized my wedding ring for me too. (Here is where I blame being pregnant, or living in Texas from the heat I swell, or not dancing anymore, but the honest truth is, my ring really hasn't fit well since after year 1....that's about 4 years ago. I have gained a little weight, so since I got pregnant, it really didn't fit) Well, I bought a fake ring to wear, but people always commented on it, and I felt awuful. I just wanted people to see my real wedding ring. So Chris resized it today, I asked him when he gave it to me.....is that the only thing you bought at Jared's? Right then he knew that I knew something.

he gave it to me tonight. It's a cross necklace with a blue topaz stone in the middle and a diamond on each end of the cross. (topaz is going to be Carter's birth stone.) It means so much to me....I love that he thought of me, and wanted it to be special for the birth of our first child. (I am in no means promoting a "push present" ) I think you need to give only Love presents if you so desire.
