No...
So many of you know that Carter has been sleeping exclusivly in his swing. He just doens't like the pack&play or his crib. He likes to swing and his car seat. God figure, my mom said I was the same way. (He might not look a lot like me, but he is a lot like me....)
He got shots a couple days ago, so I was just going to let him sleep whereever for a day, so could get rest if he wans't feeling well.
But last night, since Chris was home early and off on Sat I knew it would be a good night to try to get him to sleep in the pack& play in our room. We didn't get home till 9 from a friends house, I thought he would sleep in the car, but he was wide awake. So we gave him a bath, fed him, and did the night time thing, then I rocked him a little, to get him droopy eyed. I told Chris here we go.....attempt #1.
I placed him in the pack&play, I heard a few squirmy noises, then NOTHING....It was just that simple. He slept better, and longer in there, I only woke up at 1 and 5 to feed him, and I put him right back in there, and he fell right asleep. He didn't wake up every 2 hours.
I thought great, now he knows where he sleeeps, let's do his nap in there.
Nope, I lost that battle. After 1.5 hours of screaming every time I held him over the pack&play I gave up, just becuase he needs a nap, at night I would have kept going, but I don't want to overtire him, or he won't sleep tonight. We are going to get black out shades today, I think that might have to do with it. In the swing he can look around at the room, but he can't see anything in the pack&play.
We'll get there, one step at a time. At least we are both better rested from last night, so tonight we can try it again, and pray it goes just as well. One step closer to a full nights sleep and moving him to his own room. I want him to be as prepared as I can make him.

Hang in there. We found that something may work for awhile and then one day they wake up and hate it. Kids are funny that way. Babies do like routines so if it worked last night try the same thing tonight even if he fusses a little.
Don't worry, it will all come in time with lots of persistence! Thats great that he is sleeping in the pack and play at night now for you. Yay for more sleep!!
