The view from the plane on our way to Oregon. Mt. Hood. We saw the best skylines on the plane. We could see Bachelor, Hoodoo, 3 sisters, Jefferson, Hood, and Helens. (all Mt.)
The first night we were there was horrible. Carter didn't go to sleep till about 11pm Oregon time, which was 1am Texas time, he was up about every 30 minutes. We were sooo tired the next day. The second night was a little better, Chris and I went Country line dancing with my parents and some friends. Chris with Chris J and Jess. When we got home though, Carter had been up crying...he was hot....he isn't used to not having AC. Oregon actually had a .......get this......heat wave. (almost 100F) So a home without AC was a little warmer than what he was used to and I think he was too warm....so he slept in a diaper only for a few nights..jpg)
We also went to visit Chris' grandpa. This is a 4 generation photo. Carter, Chris, Chris' dad, and Chris grandpa.

On the 4th, we did a big crawfish boil for friends and family in Oregon. With a little cajin style spices...bringing a little southern feel. It was a great day. Chris' parents bought the biggest pot I had ever seen...Carter thought it was pretty cool, untill he sat in it, and it made weird echo sounds. The 4th was also Chris' dad's retirement party and 60th birthday party. It was a great day for him I am sure....

Chris and his dad with the box of crawfish that was overnighted from Louisianna..jpg)
Chris with the crawfish....Carter never did use that pool.

Carter got to meet a dog his size on the trip too. Lucy, my mom and dad's puppy was so exited to see Carter. They would play tug-a-war. Not on purpose but Lucy's toys are the right size for Carter so he would grab them, and Lucy would take them....videos on previous post...(Speaking of videos, I deleted all my videos once I got home, all I can say is two things, 1. So glad for blogging, becuaes otherwise I wouldn't have any videos, 2. serves me right for not using my video camera and just using my picture camera for videos. That's won't happen again.)

Chris and Carter in Corvallis. Those trees were about 3 feet tall when I was Carter's age.
Me and my cousin's on their farm in Corvallis. We had to meet them out there, since it was harvesting time. We came on their lunch time.
Carter and Chris... "Dad, where am I? What is this tan stuff. It's everywhere" We also found out that Carter is a little like me.....allergies..jpg)
Chris and I went to camp Tilikum in Newberg to visit my cousin and her husband. It was sooooo beautiful. They are such great people. We visited with them, walked around camp, carter got his own little wood chip cookie, name tags that the kids all wear, they are made out of little trees cut pancake like.
Carter once again, trying to drive. This time in a rest stop by the coast. Those unplanned stops are sometimes the best ones..jpg)
We went to Linclon City, OR. Carter loved the sand, and looking at the water. He didn't eat the sand like we thought he would. He just touched it, and felt it. We burried his feet and he would wiggel them out...laughing the whole time. The water was soooo cold. I steped in it, and right out.

We visited Corvallis area again, and saw my aunt and uncle at their new building for business and their vegtable garden. We also stopped in Albany to see our friend Jess. Carter got a little guitar lesson. He wasn't too bad, better than Chris. :o)
We went to the Oregon zoo with our great friends, Andrew and Courtney and their 2 kids Elle and Houston. Carter was more interested in the other kids then the animals, but we had fun. Courtney also took great photos of Carter while we were there, I will post some later. For more info seeYoung Photography. at http://photosbycourtneyyoung.blogspot.com

We couldn't pass up the change to eat at BenniHanna (sp) with my grandma and mom for lunch. Carter thought the knoves flying were neat.

My mom had an open house for us to get a change to see all our friends and family in one place. Chris put together a great BBQ meal, brisket, pork, cream corn, queso, sweet tea, watermellon and a few other southern things. photo below is Chris, Carter, Houston and Andrew...(he'll be moving to Texas soon,.......well that's our prayers. Pray for a job in Texas for him.)
