Well, being pregnant I knew that I would ahve to wean Carter eventually. I was trying to come up with a game plan, since he'll be 1 year soon, and I should stop breastfeeding by 20 weeks. (I am about 14 right now.)
Last Saturday, I woke up to feed him.....Carter wanted nothing to do with me, he was arching his back, trying to roll away from me, and screaming. I didn't think much of it, since he's skipped one feeding here and there in the past. All day long it was like that though. He was just done. 100% done nursing. Sat night Chris and I fought with him for about a hour to get him to try to at least have some formula....he needed some fluids in his body. Well, he didn't want that either, we tried a bottle, sippy cup, applejuice mixed with it, everything we could think of.
(I know everyone tells you not to give a child under 1 year old cows milk.....well turn me in to the feds I guess.)
Carter would drink cows whole milk, and that was it, so that's what we did.
It's tues now, and he's doing just fine, he doesn't seem to care at all. He drinks water, milk, and watered down apple juice. He's having wet diapers, so I guess he's fine.
No need for a game plan I guess. Now time to focus on my body just being pregnant. (I do have much more energy now that I am not nursing while pregnant, it's kinda nice.)
