We survived.

Friday night Chris and I went to bed watching the news on Galviston and Houston, and hearing of all the devistaton. Saturday morning, we continued to watch the news as they didn't know where the hurricane was going to go. I got ready for work as normal. As we were driving to work, Chris did drop me off, it was raining a little, but it looked like an Oregon day in November, a little grey, cloudy and rainy. As the day went on, the chances of Dallas/FortWorth getting any real bad weather diminished, and I was left all day long at work helping mostly people who had evacuated from southern Texas.
What a great experience for me, to know how fortunate I am. Many of the people I helped don't haev water, power, roads to go home on, who knows if there home is okay. It made me really appraciate all that I have. Not that I was affraid I was going to lose it, but I think it's a great reminder daily to remember all that God gave us. No where else in the world is there a standard of living like ours. If I want light, I turn on the switch. If I want cold water, I just walk over to my fridge and take one out. I am just overwhelmed by all that we have, and don't even realize it.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
I do have to work today, but I get to drive there in my car, that I joke about sometimes being a Lemon, but you know what, I am lucky to have one.
